“E.O. 13288 imposed sanctions against specifically identified individuals and entities in Zimbabwe, as a result of the actions and policies of certain members of the Government of Zimbabwe and other persons undermining democratic institutions or processes in Zimbabwe. Following E.O. 13288, in response to the continued undermining of democratic institutions, the President issued two subsequent Executive orders that expanded the list of sanctions targets to include immediate family members of any person whose property and interests in property are blocked as well as those persons providing assistance to any such individual.”

U.K. HUMAN RIGHTS PROTESTERS CAUSE THE CLOSURE OF SOUTH AFRICA HIGH COMMISSION IN PLANNED ANTI XENOPHOBIA PEACEFUL PROTEST.

As Africans in the U.K. on the 11^th September 2019, (11/09/19) we united to protest at SOUTH AFRICA HOUSE against the Xenophobic attacks on black migrants by indigenous South Africans carried out mostly in the capital city Johannesburg and the port city of Durban.

In the past weeks, we have seen yet again, Xenophobic atrocities happening in SOUTH AFRICA against fellow black Africans. Zimbabweans, Nigerians, Ghanaian's and so many other Africans have been affected. One of the videos shows a man being burned alive, in another video a man is apparently beaten to death, he is effectively being summarily tortured by mob rule.

Xenophobia [or more accurately AFRO-PHOBIA ] is an ugly facet on South African streets right now. Cyril Ramaphosa has done little to suppress the ghastly consequence of his "xenophobic-ticket" as he campaigned for President. Now the price of that travesty is being seen globally - but still the "luke-warm" condemnation is just not enough.

It is ironic that the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Africa, with the meeting being held in Cape Town, South Africa. How have other African leaders re-acted to the carnage? Well that remains to be seen - but there needs to be a public statement to be released by these "leaders", otherwise we may just as well ignore their meeting as a "talk Shop!

Zimbabwe has Never looked Weaker

Veteran economist, John Robertson, has said that the Zimbabwean situation has graduated to extreme levels where humanitarian aid is now a necessity. Robertson also said that the government knew what could trigger an economic comeback but had no political will to do so. He said:

Zimbabwe has never looked weaker. Not a single measure taken has earned respect, and the only assistance we qualify for now is humanitarian aid. Government lacks the courage to do the right thing. It is doing only what it thinks it can get away with. John Robertson says the Government has no "political-will" to deal with corruption.

His remarks come when inflation is soaring with prices of basic commodities being raised on a fortnight basis.

The inflation worsens the plight of workers whose salaries have remained fairly stagnant resulting in clashes between the working class and authorities on several occasions.

The opposition MDC led by Nelson Chamisa has also added to the chagrin of the state by organising nationwide demonstrations which were however blocked by the police.

Tears Of a Broken Woman

Last week in Zimbabwe, one of the MDC (Movement for Democratic Change) (Zimbabwe’s main opposition party) youth Sekai Marashe aka Muchaina (pictured) was brutalised and assaulted. Where is the woman’s rights? Where is the protection and where is the democracy? Those in power, in the government are meant to protect the woman. Instead, they spread malicious lies. Dr Energy Mudoti a prominent ZANU PF minister tweeted, “no matter how democratic our government can be, we can never guarantee that drunkards & prostitutes stop fighting”. For a minister to stoop that low in attack of a vulnerable young woman instead of protecting her is gut wrenchingly sickening. He is using his platform and authority to discredit the crying, the broken and the vulnerable.

Not Just Sekai but also a well-known comedian, Samatha Kureya aka “Gonyeti,” who uses her talent, humour, wit and her platform to be an activist against the Zanu pf regime was abducted, tortured, threatened and told to stop and not speak of it. They broke her but she will fight on and the National News paper, The herald has gone and published her full name and address to continue the intimidation.
